The U.S. military is headed to the Mexican border because of the inexplicably, but thankfully and widely reported news that over a thousand migrants are headed north, and Mexico isn’t their desired destination. This reporting is a blessing to those who want our border secured.
President Trump warned Mexico about the “caravan” army exceeding 1,200 people from all over Central America, now passing through Mexico towards our southern border where they will either attempt to seek asylum or illegally enter our country.
Tuesday the President tweeted:
“The big Caravan of People from Honduras, now coming across Mexico and heading to our “Weak Laws” Border, had better be stopped before it gets there. Cash cow NAFTA is in play, as is foreign aid to Honduras and the countries that allow this to happen.”
President Trump also told reporters, “Until we have a wall and proper security, we’re going to be guarding our border with the military.” It is reported the mass of people are mostly military aged young men. It is a winning bet that included in the crowd are Central American drug dealers and Middle East terrorists.
Also you will have a lot of Mexican nationals claiming to be from Honduras and other countries, who will attempt to claim some type of asylum. It is an old story.
Mexican and Canadian illegal aliens can choose “voluntary repatriation,” aka VR, and just be sent back across the border. And in some cases, the same day they are captured by the U.S. Border Patrol, they try another illegal entry; sometimes even within the hour of being captured. Other foreign nationals, Hondurans for example, don’t get the VR choice if captured entering illegally. They are given a date to appear in court, a so-called “run letter” in the vernacular of the Border Patrol, and most never appear, of course, fading into the American landscape.
Nothing happens fast in government unless there is an emergency. This qualifies. President Trump may have wanted to use the military on the border before this, but now this “caravan” has justified that action.
The open borders pro-illegal alien forces will try different things to prevent the deployment, including the invoking of the Posse Comitatus Act. But to no avail.
Under Exclusions and Limitations, there are several situations in which the Act does not apply. The most relevant in this case being:
- Enforcement of federal law at the discretion of the President of the United States … .
And you can bet that “discretion” in the Trump Administration is not the “prosecutorial discretion” of the last administration, which really meant little or no prosecution.
“Enforcement of federal law at the discretion of the President of the United States.” We’re about to see that discretion exercised.
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill.]
