“Geographically, Ireland is a medium-sized rural island that is slowly but steadily being consumed by sheep.” – Dave Barry
In the days of yesteryear, we would laugh at a humorous quip like Dave Barry’s. But in modern times, somebody would surely take offence and demand social justice, or some such rot.
Éire is the Irish name for Ireland and Slán (Slawn) means Goodbye.
And if things continue the way they are, we will be saying goodbye to Ireland in the not too distant future, at least to the Ireland we knew.
The Irish government has plans to increase Ireland’s population of 4.7 million by an additional 1 million people via mass migration.
The harbinger is the tiny Irish village of Lisdoonvarna, a rural community of 300 residents, which is having its population increased by a third by a new migrant center.
Jihad Watch likens it to a Muslim migrant flood.
The residents of Lisdoonvarna voted 93% against the proposed influx, but to no avail. One citizen commented that Ireland has become a “slave state” of the European Union’s immigration policies, leaving the locals helpless to stop it. Many are afraid they will be called racists if they stand up to this invasion.
“We don’t know where these people are going to be from. They won’t tell us what countries they’re from. What religion they’re from,” said Michael Walsh. He said the 300-strong rural community of Lisdoonvarna would be radically changed by such a large and sudden influx, and that many concerned locals were fearful of accusations of racism if they questioned it.
Ireland already has experienced migrant “cultural enrichment.” One example is Faisal Ellahi from Pakistan who was jailed for 13 years on March 16, 2016 for raping a young woman with Down syndrome at his home in Dublin on June 12, 2013.
The flag of Ireland was officially adopted on January 21, 1919. It was modeled after the French Tricolore and uses color to symbolize religions. Green is representative of Catholics; orange is representative of Protestants; and the white is symbolic of the union of both.
With the coming mass migration, one wonders how long it will take before that flag becomes “offensive” to the newcomers because of its Christian connotations and is barred from public places? The English flag of King George has just now been hauled down by the Radstock Town Council in Somerset, England, because it might offend the 16 Muslims living in the town of 5,600.
The British Isles are sinking before our very eyes, and there is nothing we can do about it except one thing … we can learn from it. We can watch their decline and use it as an example of what we don’t want to see happen in America.
Perhaps we can paraphrase Dave Barry and make the observation that Ireland, and England, are islands being led by sheep.
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill.]
