The Sanctimonious Sanctuary City by the Bay has produced yet another homicide victim of an illegal alien criminal. On August 15, an innocent young man was murdered during a robbery by a thug, well known to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) as an illegal alien. But he was released back into the community, rather than being turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
ICE had previously put an ankle bracelet on Erick Garcia-Pineda, 18, which he was still wearing when he “allegedly” killed 23-year-old Abel Ezquivel with a handgun he “allegedly” stole from a SFPD vehicle four days prior.
Garcia-Pineda, Perez-Araujo and Daniel Cruz, 18, then went on a robbery spree in the early-morning hours of Aug. 15, authorities said, ending with Garcia-Pineda shooting Esquivel, a city native and supermarket worker, at 26th Street and South Van Ness Avenue. Data from the ankle monitor is now key evidence in the case.
And of course:
Garcia-Pineda was the subject of deportation proceedings after he was detained in December by federal authorities … .
This has an eerie reminiscence to the Kate Steinle killing in the summer of 2015 when an illegal alien shot and killed Steinle with a handgun stolen from a Bureau of Land Management agent’s vehicle. Charged, and now being tried for her killing, is Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, a Mexican national with seven felony convictions and five deportations who had returned to San Francisco, California.
So once again, an innocent person is dead because of San Francisco’s insane attitude about enforcing our immigration laws. And not just dead, but shot and killed while being robbed.
The body count continues to grow. Three members of the Bologna family were murdered in broad daylight by a known illegal alien gang banger on a city street. Kate Steinle shot and killed by an illegal alien who told police that the reason he was in San Francisco was because of their sanctuary city policy. And now, yet another victim of illegal alien criminals.
Actions have consequences. The consequence of a sanctuary city is that it becomes a magnet for illegal aliens, some of whom are violent criminals.
A consequence of government officials being so irresponsible that their actions, or lack of actions, result in the deaths of innocent people should be felt at the ballot box. But in San Francisco, the sanctimony created by the sanctuary city goes beyond the elected officials it seems. Unfortunately, one can only expect more stories about the unnecessary victims of illegal alien criminals in San Francisco.
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill.]
