Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in jurisdictions where federal immigration law enforcement officers are denied access to jails and prisoners, and where ICE detainers are ignored, nevertheless arrested 498 illegal alien criminals in a four-day operation that ended September 27 called, “Operation Safe City.”
Operation Safe City arrests took place in Baltimore (28), Cook County, Illinois (30), Denver (63), Los Angeles (101), New York (45), Philadelphia (107), Portland, Oreegon (33), Santa Clara County, California (27); Washington, D.C. (14) and in Massachusetts (50).
Despite the insane policies of the so-called Sanctuary Cities, they are safer cities today because:
- 317 had criminal convictions;
- 68 are immigration fugitives;
- 104 are previously deported criminal aliens; and
- 18 are gang members or affiliates.
Included in the list of offenses committed by the illegal aliens they apprehended, are nearly a dozen child sexual assaults, 86 DUIs, 14 drug trafficking arrests, numerous sexual assaults, violent assaults, domestic violence … the list is quite detailed.
But the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights in Los Angeles (CHIRLA) supporters of illegal aliens and open borders, etc., issued a press release that is completely unhinged as it whines about the enforcement.
CHIRLA, “… denounced reports Thursday that ICE conducted immigration sweeps during the past several days arresting 498 undocumented immigrants nationally.”
They called Operation Safe City, “… a clearly cruel, absurd, and politically motivated enforcement operation.”
And they claim it was a, “… dastardly operation…” and, “… (a) cruel form of immigration enforcement.”
The Executive Director of CHIRLA said the operation, “… negatively impacted at the very least 498 American families.”
This whining about the operation would almost be funny if it wasn’t pathetic. There is no concern about the victims of the criminals arrested. There is only ridiculous, lying shibboleths ignoring the negative impact on our country and our culture.
These enforcement actions were spearheaded by ERO deportation officers assigned to the agency’s Fugitive Operations Teams, which are tasked with locating, arresting, and removing individuals who are unlawfully present in the United States. The teams give top priority to cases involving individuals who pose a threat to public safety, including members of transnational street gangs and sex offenders.
The illegal alien supporters don’t like it, but cities and citizens are safer because of this law enforcement. Let’s see more of it; a lot more of it.
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill]
