Since taking office, Virginia’s Gov. Ralph Northam has promised much to those here illegally. Over the past few months, he has delivered on those promises.
In April, Northam signed a bill into law, which will grant taxpayer-subsidized, in-state tuition at colleges and universities throughout the Commonwealth. The measure is set to go into effect on July 1, 2020.
Also, in April the governor sent a bill back to state legislators which granted driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, with his own recommendations. One of those recommendations was that the licenses appear identical to those issued to citizens of the Commonwealth, rather reading “Driver Privilege Card: not valid ID for voting or pubic benefits purposes.”
Now, presumably, those licenses can be taken into any library or voter registrar’s office and serve as valid ID for the holder to register to vote. Although, that task will likely be performed for them by the DMV, when they receive their newly minted ‘license.’
Of course, over the last few weeks, those of us who live in this state where laws and police officers were once respected, Gov. Northam has sat by and watched as violent protests and all-out riots have taken place across the state. Many of those have occurred in the state’s capital city of Richmond.
On a nightly basis, BLM, Antifa, and some who seem to just enjoy mayhem gather around the city’s statues along Monument Avenue and pull the statues down with ropes or chains, then usually set fire to the statue, often while pelting police officers with rocks and bottles.
Nearly no arrests have taken place as a result of the destruction of both public and private property, as Northam has undoubtedly ordered both local and state police to ‘stand down,’ often leaving law-abiding civilians and police alike, injured.
So, why is Northam, a physician, allowing such harm to come to this state?
Well, some research into the just who the Governor has aligned himself with, may provide an answer…
In 2007, when Northam was still a practicing physician, he decided to run for the Virginia State Senate, against Republican incumbent Nick Rerras. Northam won, and along the way, he hired the former head of the New Black Panthers, Michael Muhammad (aka Michael Miles).
Northam paid Muhammad $2,805, for “consulting services,” reports the Virginia Public Access Project.
Muhammad who describes himself as an “educational minister” for the Nation of Islam, is an avowed racist, anti-Semite, and once threatened to burn down the city of Norfolk (during a city council meeting).
Over the years, he has racked-up three dozen criminal charges, and was once convicted of violating a protective order for stalking then-Republican House of Delegates candidate Winsome Sears.
In fact, Muhammad is so hateful of a character, that even the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has condemned him.
In 2001, the SPLC stated the following: “The New Panthers, who are unrelated to the original Black Panthers of the 1960s, also made news in November in Norfolk, Va. Hoping to restore ‘civility’ to city council meetings after an inflammatory speech by local Panther leader Michael Muhammad, the city council voted to restrict public comment at meetings. In retrospect, one of Muhammad’s remarks stood out.
Muhammad pointed to the sunset above the city skyline outside. ‘I see how much it resembles fire,’ he said. ‘Looks good to me.’”
Unconcerned with Muhammad’s history of racism, criminal history, and threats of violence, then-Sen. Ralph Northam told The Virginian-Pilot: “He made sure people knew I was a good candidate and was instrumental in getting people to the polls.”
People of conscience throughout the Commonwealth should call for Northam’s immediate resignation, it is more than obvious that the governor will not keep his oath to protect Virginians, and in light of the aforementioned discovery, his conscience is now, also in question.
