With the seeming unending national media obsession with collusion and obstruction swirling around us every day, I couldn’t help but look at the behavior of some in the news who are opposed to secure borders and immigration law enforcement. And I have concluded that some have obstructed justice.
In April of this year Massachusetts Court Judge Shelley M. Richmond Joseph and a court officer, Wesley MacGregor, faced several charges stemming from an April 2, 2018 incident, in which they helped twice-deported illegal alien Jose Medina-Perez get out of their courthouse via a back door, helping him escape the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who sought to take him into custody. Judge Richmond reportedly “cried” as she left the court after being charged.
Also in 2018, the Mayor of Oakland California tipped off illegal aliens in February about a San Francisco Bay Area operation by ICE targeting criminal illegal aliens. ICE believes that more than 800 illegal aliens avoided capture after Mayor Libby Schaaf blew the cover off of the enforcement action. Some who were alerted by Schaaf were criminal illegal aliens.
I am confident there are hundreds of other cases, if not thousands, of obstruction-of-justice regarding the enforcement of our immigration laws. California alone has enough perpetrators to fill San Quentin.
As for collusion with Mexico, it is possible. Mexico benefits from mass illegal immigration into the United States. They see their criminal element come to America where there are more targets for criminals and the targets represent a bigger score. Also Mexicans who work in America send a large part of their earnings home to family members, which is a source of free money to support the Mexican economy. Remittances are the largest source of foreign money, bigger than any other, including oil. There is no overhead. The money just flows in from north of the border. That is a big incentive to keep the flood coming.
And then there is the drug trade. The New York Times reported in January that, “The former president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, took a $100 million bribe from Joaquín Guzmán Loera, the infamous crime lord known as El Chapo, according to a witness at Mr. Guzman’s trial.”
Mexican politicians aren’t the only ones who take bribes. Is it possible that many in America, and that includes in government at all levels, are also taking bribes to keep the border from being secured?
Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and other Senate Democrats are now claiming that Americans have an obligation to give amnesty to illegal aliens. Are any of them colluding with Mexico?
In the House, Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) believes it is un-American for ICE to arrest and detain illegal aliens. She used the term “immigrants” who are not being detained by ICE, but we know who she means. Is Omar colluding with Mexico, or some other foreign entity, to continue to allow the flood across our border that threatens our security and weakens our culture?
I think that obstruction of justice regarding enforcement of our immigration laws, and any collusion with foreign countries to help illegal aliens enter our country, should be investigated and prosecuted with vigor. It would give us demonstrable examples of actual obstruction and collusion.
