Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus performed their final show on May 21, 2017, closing after 146 years of performances. But no worries, we have seen them replaced by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in California, the most overturned federal circuit court in the country.
On Monday, April 8, the same judge, Richard G. Seeborg, who ruled in March that the government of the United States can’t ask residents of the United States if they are … you know, citizens of the United States on the 2020 Census, has now blocked the government’s attempt to deal with the massive amnesty fraud on the southern border by giving applicants a hearing date, and then returning them to Mexico, through which they traveled to get to our border.
The San Diego Union reports, The program, officially called Migrant Protection Protocols and known widely as “Remain in Mexico,” began in late January and has returned hundreds of Central American asylum seekers to Mexico.
Seeborg’s opinion is only a 27-page order, compared to this 126-page tome on the Census citizenship question, but it did get an attaboy from the disgraced Southern Poverty Law Center.
According to the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, “Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.” A refugee is a person who is outside their own country because of fear of persecution for race, nationality, religion, political opinions, and participating in activities of a social group.
There are legitimate asylum seekers, to be sure. But what we have seen in the past months in “caravan” after “caravan” of tens of thousands of people heading north, with obvious transportation and food and legal assistance, is not people seeking political asylum. It is an invasion of foreigners fleeing admittedly terrible circumstances and told to claim asylum under whatever dubious reason they can come up with.
If you go to the ICE.gov webpage and enter “asylum,” you get story after story of convictions for asylum fraud.
Sending these “asylum” seekers back to Mexico with instructions to contact ICE when they get settled, so they can be notified of their hearing date, only makes sense. Letting them all in, only encourages more asylum fraud, making the problem much worse under the Big Top.
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill.]
