On Friday, February 15, President Trump declared a national emergency to obtain the money for completing the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Monday, Presidents’ Day, 16 states filed a lawsuit in, where else, the Northern District of California in an attempt to block the President from using funds to build the border wall other than what was provided for in the bad joke budget legislation that Congress passed to avoid another (partial) government shutdown.
There are many reasons why those elected to the public payroll (they should never be called leaders) support illegal immigration and illegal aliens: cheap labor, adding consumers, and anti-American/anti-western culture sentiment, to name a few.
Another reason is population growth, because population numbers determine the number of congressional seats, determined by the decennial census, the next one in 2020.
The states filing the lawsuits:
|State||2016 Electoral College||Driver’s License
for Illegal Aliens
|1. California||Blue||Yes – 2015|
|2. Colorado||Blue||Yes – 2014|
|3. Connecticut||Blue||Yes – 2015|
|4. Delaware||Blue||Yes – 2015|
|5. Hawaii||Blue||Yes – 2016|
|6. Illinois||Blue||Yes – 2013|
|7. Maine||Blue 3 – Red – 1||No|
|8. Maryland||Blue||Yes – 2014|
|11. Nevada||Blue||Yes – 2014|
|12. New Jersey||Blue||No|
|13. New Mexico||Blue||Yes – 2003|
|14. New York||Blue||No|
As populations flee states for a variety of reasons: high taxes, illegal immigration, weather, etc., they risk losing their political clout as their number of congressional seats can also decline.
Between 2010 – 2018, Illinois has lost .71% of its population; Connecticut lost .04%; Vermont gained .09% but is in no risk of losing its only seat in the House; Maine gained .76%; New York gained .85%; Michigan gained 1.13%; New Mexico gained 1.76%; and New Jersey gained 2.74%.
These blue states are in competition for congressional seats with red states: Utah, Texas, Florida, and North Dakota; four of the top five states in population growth all have over 13% population growth.
The political parties in control of the above lawsuit states are looking ahead and don’t want to risk losing their clout in Congress or the all-important Electoral College. So just as giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens and declaring themselves sanctuaries from federal immigration law enforcement can be a magnate for “migrants,” so too does joining the lawsuit “against the wall” send a loud welcoming message to illegal aliens in other states, and to the whole world, as they hope to bump up their population numbers in time for the Census.
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill.]
