Breitbart is running a story about the U.S. Chamber of Commerce putting big financial resources into a May 8 primary race for an open congressional race in Ohio’s 16th District. There are three Republicans vying for the nomination, Anthony Gonzalez, Michael Grusenmeyer and Christina Hagan (currently a state representative).
The Chamber has contributed $300,000 to Gonzalez. Breitbart calls them the “pro-amnesty for illegal aliens U.S. Chamber of Commerce.”
This is not an endorsement of anyone in this race. I don’t know anything about the candidates running.
But I do know the Chamber of Commerce. And they certainly are pro-amnesty and pro-mass immigration in every way. My experience with the Chamber goes back over 25 years when a couple of lawyers representing the local chapter threatened to sue me over my efforts to stop our city from constructing an illegal alien hiring hall. What they were really upset about was that I was going to publicize the fact that the Chamber endorsed the illegal alien hiring hall without a vote or even a poll of their members. I stood up to leave after the lawsuit comment and looked them both in the eye and said, “I’ve been threatened by pros, and you guys don’t even come close.”
There can’t be enough attention drawn to the Chamber of Commerce and their support for massive legal and illegal immigration and amnesty.
There are diverse groups supporting mass immigration for several reasons, but the main reason, reason number one, is customers.
Yes, some want the cheap labor and others want new voters and others want more people in the church pews. Racial politics. There are many reasons, but it is customers that head the list of reasons why mass immigration and amnesty are supported by so many.
It all comes down to demographics and marketing. The key demographic for marketing is roughly 24-54 years old. Sometimes it can go as high as 64, but the 24-54 demographic is important because at 24, or earlier, you are entering the consumer market, leaving home and beginning to build your adult life. At 54, you’re pretty much exiting out of the consumer cycle. Many are reaching retirement and slowing down their lives, et cetera.
Given that the last of the Post-World War II Baby Boomers (1946 – 1964), the most powerful consuming demographic of all time hits 54 years old this year, clearly the smart marketers are, and have been for years, looking for new customers and who better than immigrants? And it matters not a bit to some if many are illegal immigrants.
Illegal aliens are perfect for marketers. When an illegal alien comes to our country, what do they have? A jug of water and clothes on their back. They pitch the water jug as they enter the load car on the last leg of their journey to an American city and a job.
Most everybody in the world nowadays has seen American television and American movies. They know exactly how we live here and want to come and live like us. Who can blame them? Only millions begin their new lives in America by breaking our immigration laws. They also break the law when they take a job.
Many businesses who sell to this new, younger demographic don’t really care about their immigration status. They just want to sell to them, rent to them, everything. And frankly, it doesn’t matter if the consumer is spending money earned by working or spending government tax dollars from welfare to food stamps, Section 8, you name it. The businesses benefit from it all.
Which is why many businesses and their advocates, like the Chamber of Commerce, are for amnesty, for anything that keeps the new customers coming.
With the birthrate declining, our country’s largest demographic isn’t even at replacement level. The only way to get those new consumers is to import them, legally or illegally, but get them.
So if I heard about the Chamber giving big money to a candidate running in my district, the first question I would ask would be: “what is their position on amnesty and illegal immigration?”
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill.]
