The endless phony outrage about illegal alien children held in detention goes on and on and on, repeating the same misinformation and outright lies day after day for about a week, now. One item that I only heard reported once was the CNN interview with Chris Cabrera, spokesman for the National Border Patrol Council, where he told the host, “a lot of these kids that are coming here, and put through terrible, terrible situations by their parents. They are brought over in extremely dangerous conditions, in extremely dangerous terrain … .” And then he dropped an atomic bomb shell:
“When you see a 12-year-old girl with a Plan B pill, or their parents put her on birth control because they know getting violated is part of the journey, that’s just a terrible way to live.”
The Plan B pill is a “morning after pill.” It is used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. This is stunning. This is child abuse of the first magnitude. Sending your young daughter knowing that she will be raped, probably more than once, during the journey is so offensive, disgraceful, contemptible … there aren’t words to adequately express the outrageousness of this. Sounds like some of these kids need to be saved from their parents. And yet no follow up stories. Nothing.
The coverage of the detentions and the unhinged outrage has a lot of Americans watching the situation. In a recent CBS News/YouGov poll, 55 percent of swing voters said they believe the border wall is a “good idea that can probably be completed” or a “good idea that should be tried, even if it can’t be completed.”
More than 4-in-9 black Americans in swing districts say overall immigration to the U.S. is making life in America “worse” for them.
Most America want this border madness ended. And now we have an administration that is dealing with the situation, perhaps not fast enough for some, but moving in the right direction. Fanning the flames of the child detention issue, which led the lame-stream media to use pictures taken of child detention areas during the Obama Administration, has put the illegal immigration issue front and center.
And when you hear border patrolmen tell the truth about what is happening to these kids, it makes people even more determined to stop the influx.
Chris Cabrera also told CNN, “When you see a 4-year-old girl traveling completely alone with just her parents’ phone number written across her shirt. I mean, come on now, something needs to be done.”
