President Trump’s meeting with a bi-partisan group of legislators at the White House on Tuesday to discuss immigration has led to wide-ranging opinions, including Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) bringing up the term “comprehensive immigration reform.”
Reflecting the views of fellow Democrats, as well as a few Republicans, Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California encouraged Trump to support “a clean DACA bill” and save his immigration crackdown proposals for later, comprehensive legislation.
“What about a clean DACA bill now with a commitment that we go into a comprehensive immigration reform procedure?” Feinstein asked him.
Now, this is classic Democrat Newspeak. “Comprehensive immigration reform” is a complete amnesty of all illegal aliens in our country. And it isn’t 11 million. The “Swamp Creatures of the Beltway” have been using that 11 million number for at least 15 years.
And it is also, gradualism. They think that once they get the process started, they can add on to it.
The immigration enforcement issue is what got Trump elected. His talk about building a wall, ending chain migration and all the other enforcement talk, including sharing the campaign stage with Maria Espinoza’s Angel Moms of the Remembrance Project, garnered the kind of support for a political candidate that those of us in the movement have been wanting to see for years.
Now we all knew the DACA children were going to be a problem to deal with. The previous administration welcomed them knowing that it would be years before they were dealt with. There would be a huge sympathy factor. And they probably thought it would be simple to get some family chain migration instituted, because after all, the children deserve to have their parents.
If we eventually decide to send them all back, let’s do it soon before they establish more links in our country.
If Congress decides to grant a limited DACA amnesty, then let’s make sure that it includes a big quid pro quo, such as a border wall, E-Verify, the end to chain migration, and the visa lottery.
To think that the Republicans would stab their voters in the back again, when it is undeniably clear that most Americans want our immigration laws enforced, would really make them what our late friend Sam Francis called “The Stupid Party.”
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill.]
