Jeff Sessions has set pro-illegal alien tongues wagging about his use of the term, “illegal alien.” In a recent announcement that the federal government will no longer give grant money to cities unless they give federal immigration law enforcement access to their jails and advance notice when an illegal alien is about to be released, Attorney General Jeff Sessions used the hated term “illegal alien.”
So-called ‘sanctuary’ policies make all of us less safe because they intentionally undermine our laws and protect illegal aliens who have committed crimes … . These policies also encourage illegal immigration and even human trafficking by perpetuating the lie that in certain cities, illegal aliens can live outside the law.
And Kate Steinle was a victim of an illegal alien living safely in the sanctuary city of San Francisco.
The open borders, pro-amnesty crowd hates the term “illegal alien” because it is accurate in its description of the offender. The person is an alien to our country and is illegally in our county: ipso facto an illegal alien.
Legal immigrants to our country used to be called “Permanent Resident Aliens” and had green cards, that were pink for many years and are now green again, that identified them as such. Alien is not a “racist term” as is alleged. It is used on the USCIS website to identify legal and illegal aliens:
“An alien admitted to the United States as a lawful permanent resident.”
Sec. 101. [8 U.S.C. 1101] (a) As used in this Act-
3) The term “alien” means any person not a citizen or national of the United States.
What the complainers of the legally accurate term “illegal alien” are trying to do is invoke a 21st century “Newspeak” on the country. Newspeak was the official language of Oceania in George Orwell’s dystopian 1984. A modern definition of Newspeak is, “ambiguous euphemistic language used chiefly in political propaganda.”
In the appendix of 1984 is found “The Principles of Newspeak.”
And in the second paragraph, we find the purpose for Newspeak, and the reason the open borders crowd hates the term illegal alien and prefers “undocumented.”
The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a medium of expression for the worldview and mental habits proper to the devotees of Ingsoc, but to make all other modes of thought impossible. It was intended that when Newspeak had been adopted once and for all and Oldspeak forgotten, a heretical thought — that is, a thought diverging from the principles of Ingsoc — should be literally unthinkable, at least so far as thought is dependent on words.
The “proper mental habits” of open borders and amnesty supporters is to excuse any illegal alien behavior and not use its accurate term. A “heretical thought” is recognizing an illegal alien and wanting the law enforced.
Every time you hear somebody whine about the term “illegal alien,” remember 1984 and the purpose of Newspeak.
Illegal aliens are “doubleplus ungood.” And it is refreshing that we finally have a government that recognizes that fact and is doing something about it.
You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life. [Winston Churchill.]
