Portland, Oregon’s sanctimonious Sanctuary City status has produced yet another victim of an illegal alien criminal. Sergio Martinez has been deported 20 times and is currently being held on 13 charges. One of them is for raping a 65-year-old woman.
Martinez entered the woman’s home, raped her, beat her and stole her car and sexually assaulted another woman later that same day. He has been in jail in both California and Oregon many times.
He was deported, for the twentieth time, last November.
The police arrested this pile of filth and presumably the City of Portland won’t let him go…this time, but who knows?
Martinez has a long criminal history, including convictions for burglary, battery, theft, violation of parole, and illegally entering the U.S. Eight months ago, on December 7, jail officials in Portland had Martinez in custody (just a month following his twentieth deportation) when they received a notice from Immigration and Customs Enforcement requesting the jail notify them before Martinez was released.
However, the next day they released him, ignoring the federal immigration hold. Oregon State has a law prohibiting local law enforcement from using any resources to enforce federal immigration law.
About a month after Martinez was released, the Multnomah County Sheriff investigated one of his deputies for contacting ICE about another illegal immigrant. And that was about the same time Oregon judge Monica Herranz let an illegal alien out of her courtroom through an employee exit to evade ICE agents waiting for him outside the courtroom.
The “thinking” behind this insanity should be the subject of a Ph.D. dissertation and a TV documentary that investigates the roots of a sanctimony that are so deep and is so perverted that elected officials and law enforcement willingly and knowingly subject their community to criminal abuses that have become so common.
There needs to be a federal law that punishes local governments for knowingly releasing federally wanted criminal illegal aliens into our communities.
As for Martinez, Portland taxpayers will likely be paying for his defense of kidnapping, rape, etc. The Portland City Council has generously committed $50,000 to a project designed to help illegal aliens fight deportation. San Francisco has a similar fund.
Yes, an investigation into this “sanctimonious insanity” would prove very interesting. And once we learned the cause of it, we could then look for a cure. Certainly, our communities would be better off with fewer of these deranged minds in local government.
